So without further adieu as promised, my daily HappyGram!
February 1: My first day of my first apt in NYC! For the last month I have been living on futons and couches of great friends of mine. I am so lucky to have such welcoming friends already in New York who let me sleep on their couch and let me put my toiletries in their medicine cabinets for 2 weeks at a time. I wasn't bothered that I didn't have my own place this last month, I was just so happy to be in NY that I just felt it was all apart of the hazing process: 1. get yelled at by a bus driver, 2. get yelled at for walking too slow, 3. sleep on friends' couch for a month or so :) So, Feb 1 marked the day that I got my very own doorman, lobby, elevators, and room. Here is a picture of my oh so trendy lobby that I told my friend was a place she would die to take instagram photos in every time we go out (yes Lizzy I am talking to you :) ). Don't be surprised if you see some cool pictures of me and friends in those chairs!
February 2: On this day I attended a cousin's baby shower. Given that I have not seen this cousin since I was 5 and that the baby shower was a surprise for her as well, made this day pretty awesome. Upon arriving in NY, I have been welcomed by my east coast family with open arms. It's been so delightful to attend family parties and get to know relatives I have not seen post age 10. They make NY feel less lonely. I am so THANKFUL that they are here to watch over me. The decor of the shower was way too cute! And my favorite part was the chocolate bars at each place setting. As I turned the chocolate bar around, I expected your good old nutrition facts but instead found this:
The small details of parties is what really makes it for me!
February 3: SUPER BOWL!!!! A few years ago I decided that I am going be a football fan. One of my best friends is a fan of the Packers and since I loved her so much (yes, Lizzy this is you again <3) it made sense to start rooting for the cheese heads. So, even though GB lost a few weeks back and were not attending the Super Bowl , my next favorite team, by way of NM, were the 49ers!
I love everything themed so of course I painted my nails 49er colors and wore a vintage 9er shirt to celebrate the Beyonce Bowl :). I yelled at the TV with the best of them (not really knowing what I was screaming) and almost won the pot of money before the safety point happened (but let's not go there)! So therefore, I was VERY happy to see the Empire State Building follow suit and dress up for the event, alternating between Raven (grrrr) colors and NINER ones (YAY!) I feel so lucky to live down the street from this view:
February 4: Oh Monday, of course I pressed snoozed about 3 times before finally deciding to get up. But the one thing I looked forward today was my weekly dose of PBerri and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER! This show means a lot to me. It's on constant play while I am getting ready, sleeping or just living life. So, when a new episode is on, I pretty much freak out because I just want to meet the MOTHER already! This episode was really funny and I can't wait to watch it again and again!
The first 4 days of February are going dandy I might say, and I am getting back in the swing of things with my camera.
